Senior Lecturer

Dr. Darija Korkut, PhD, is a Professor of Professional Studies and Lecturer at Algebra Bernays University and EFFECTUS University of Applied Sciences. She serves as Chief Business Officer (CBO) and Chief Learning Officer (CLO) at R&d. Resilient by Design, and as Deputy Head of the Institute for Creativity and Critical Thinking at Algebra Bernays University.

Her professional and academic experience includes serving as Head of the Center for Research, Development and Artificial Intelligence at EFFECTUS University of Applied Sciences. She has taught courses in Creativity and Critical Thinking in Criminal Investigation, Criminal Analytics, and Criminal Intelligence Analysis within the Professional Graduate Study Program in Criminal Investigation at the University of Criminal Investigation and Public Security. She has worked as an Information Security Consultant at Diverto Ltd., as an officer at the Croatian Security and Intelligence Agency, and as a diplomat at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia and the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Dublin.

Dr. Korkut is the author of 11 books and numerous professional and scientific papers in the fields of analytical methods and techniques, game theory, social network analysis, creativity and critical thinking, cybersecurity, and behavioral economics, as well as their application in business and intelligence environments. She has participated in numerous national and international courses and seminars in international relations and diplomacy, as well as in various analytical courses and workshops (FBI, NATO, US EUCOM, among others), many of which she attended as a lecturer. She holds international certifications in creative and critical thinking techniques, as well as in problem-solving and decision-making analytical methods. She is the author and co-author of several higher education study program curricula, notably the specialist graduate MBA program in Business Management with concentrations in Analytical Management and Behavioral Economics.

Courses she teaches include: Creativity and Critical Thinking, Structured Analytic Techniques, Change Management, Strategic Management, Behavioral Economics, Psychology of Decision-Making, Neuroeconomics, and Creativity and Problem Solving within the e-Leadership MBA program.

Awards, recognitions and memberships: her book Analytical Management received two awards for Best Book in the field of Corporate Security; her book Intelligence Analytics – Application in National and Corporate Security received the HUMS Award for Best Security Book. She serves as Vice President of Women4Cyber Croatia.

Areas of interest: creativity and innovation, critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills and tools, intelligence analytics, social network analysis, game theory, cybersecurity, education, and behavioral economics.
