Senior Lecturer

Darija Korkut, Senior Lecturer, PhDC at the doctoral study Information Society at the Faculty of Information Studies in Novo Mesto, Slovenia. She has been employed at the EFFECTUS University of Applied Sciences as a Senior Lecturer since January 2019.

Previous professional and scientific experience: Darija is the head of the Center for Research, Development and Artificial Intelligence at the EFFECTUS University of Applied Sciences, and CBO and CLO at R & d. Resilient by design. She built her first business experience at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs in analytical and information work and in diplomatic work at the Croatian Embassy in Ireland. After that, she honed her analytical skills, creative and critical thinking, and problem solving at the Security Intelligence Agency, performing tasks in the field of intelligence analytics, analytical education, and the development of innovative technological solutions. She has published 10 books and about a dozen professional and scientific papers on topics of analytical methods and techniques and their application, primarily in the business and intelligence environment, as well as game theory, social network analysis, critical thinking, creative problem solving and behavioral economics. She is the editor of the book Kopal, R.: “Economic analysis of international terrorism”, in which she also co-authors the chapter “Application of SNA in the suppression of international terrorism”. She participated in a number of domestic and international courses and seminars in the field of international relations and diplomacy, as well as in several analytical courses and workshops (FBI, NATO, US EUCOM, etc.), many of them as a lecturer. She has international certificates in the field of creative and critical thinking techniques and problem-solving and decision-making analytical techniques. Darija is the author and co-author of several study programs for higher education institutions, of which Analytical Management and the Behavioral Economics stand out.

At the Algebra Bernays University, she teaches Creativity and Critical Thinking, Structured Analytical Techniques, Change Management, and Creativity and Problem Solving on the e-Leadership MBA.

Recently published books: Analytical Management (two awards) and Intelligence Analysis – Application in National and Corporate Security (HUMS award for the best book in the field of security).
