We are proud to announce that on Thursday, May 29, 2025, Darija Korkut successfully defended her doctoral dissertation at the Faculty of Information Studies in Novo Mesto. The dissertation is titled:
“Multidimensional Research of Academic Exchange and Creativity in the EU”
The doctoral dissertation was supervised by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Robert Kopal, with co-supervision by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zoran Levnajić. The dissertation committee also included Prof. Dr. Borut Rončević and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Leo Mršić.
About the research:
The dissertation explores the crucial role of creativity and innovation as fundamental skills for the future—particularly in the context of rapid technological change and an increasingly dynamic labor market. Creative thinking, innovativeness, and problem-solving ability are becoming decisive factors for success in both education and economic development.
The dissertation analyzes how international academic exchange contributes to the creation of economic and social value in participating countries, as measured through innovation indices. Through a multidimensional approach—including social network analysis (SNA), statistics, and econometrics—the research provides new quantitative evidence on the impact of diversity in academic exchange on the innovation performance of EU member states.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Darija Korkut on this remarkable achievement and valuable contribution to the scientific community!
