EFFECTUS Students Attend Presentation of CroCIP Project Results on Financial Literacy
Financial literacy is essential for making responsible decisions and helping young people transition confidently into independent life. These were among the key topics discussed by students of EFFECTUS University of Applied Sciences at the final presentation of the CroCIP project – the Central Information Point for Debt Counselling and Financial Literacy – held on 21 October 2026 at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture in Zagreb.
Our students Nina Liović, Anja Lovrić, Katarina Bubnjević and Paula Pavlović Ferrari attended the event, accompanied by Professor Đuro Horvat and Jelena Uzelac, Dean of EFFECTUS University of Applied Sciences.
As part of the closing event, a panel discussion on youth financial literacy was held, during which students of EFFECTUS University of Applied Sciences shared their experiences and perspectives on their attitudes towards money, sources of financial information, and the challenges and decisions they will face as they begin their independent adult lives. Particular emphasis was placed on the knowledge and information young people need to manage their personal finances responsibly.
The CroCIP project was implemented by the Financial Agency (Fina), with the support of the European Union under the Single Market Programme. Running from September 2025 to October 2026, the project focused on strengthening citizens’ financial literacy and improving access to reliable information on debt management.
As part of the project, 25 educational workshops were held across Croatia, involving more than 500 pupils and students. A central information point was also established, providing educational resources on debt management and information about institutions that citizens can turn to when facing financial difficulties.
The participation of our students in this event provided an opportunity to connect academic knowledge with everyday financial challenges and to actively engage young people in discussions on issues that directly affect their future.
Financial literacy matters not only when financial difficulties arise – it begins with the first income, the first financial decisions, and an understanding of the responsibilities that come with them.
Congratulations to our students on their participation and contribution to the discussion on the importance of financial literacy among young people!
