On October 29, 2026, the inaugural constitutive session of the new EFFECTUS Student Council was held, during which the President and Vice-President, Student Ombudsperson, Secretary, and student representatives for participation in the work of the institution’s governing and advisory bodies were elected.

At the session, Timon Pavlić was elected President of the Student Council, while Borna Herceg was appointed Vice-President. Zara Pucar was elected Student Ombudsperson, and Petra Filipčić will serve as Secretary of the Student Council.

According to the officially established student election results, the Student Council comprises the following student representatives and their respective deputies:

Student Representatives in EFFECTUS Institutional Bodies

As part of the selection of student representatives to participate in the work of EFFECTUS institutional bodies, the following students were also elected:

• Andreas Brtan – Student Representative on the Quality Assurance Centre

• Marija Primorac and Kristijan Varivoda – Student Representatives on the College Council.

The Student Ombudsperson is also a member of the Ethics Committee, while the Student Council participates in nominating student representatives to the Disciplinary Committee and the Appeals Disciplinary Committee. This ensures that the student perspective is represented in the work of important institutional bodies.

The Student Council – Representing the Student Voice

The Student Council is an elected representative body composed of the institution’s students, with its primary purpose being to represent and protect students’ interests and rights. Through the work of the Student Council, students actively participate in decision-making processes concerning their education, study conditions, and overall student welfare.

The President of the Student Council leads the Council’s work, coordinates its activities, represents students in communication with the institution’s management and other organisations, and initiates projects and initiatives aimed at improving student life.

The Vice-President supports the President in carrying out their responsibilities, actively participates in planning and implementing activities, and assumes responsibility for leading the Council in the President’s absence.

The Secretary is responsible for the Council’s administrative and organisational activities, prepares meeting minutes, participates in event organisation, and monitors the implementation of adopted decisions and initiatives.

A particularly important role is held by the Student Ombudsperson, who protects students’ rights and interests, provides support and guidance, and participates in addressing issues and concerns related to student rights.
