AI Compliance Starts Here: Expert Insight at EFFECTUS University of Applied Sciences

• The lecture was intended for members of the Business and Economic Council, the alumni community, and the staff of the University of Applied Sciences, and addressed one of the most topical issues in contemporary business practice – AI compliance.

“AI Compliance in Practice: ISO/IEC 42001, Audit and Preparation for the AI Regulation” was the title of the guest lecture delivered at EFFECTUS University of Applied Sciences on February 2 by Associate Professor Mihael Mišo Mudrić, PhD, from the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb, and one of Croatia’s leading experts in the legal aspects of artificial intelligence. The lecture provided key answers to the question of how organizations can implement AI compliance in practice.

The presentation highlighted the growing importance of AI compliance as a strategic business issue, with particular emphasis on the application of the international standard ISO/IEC 42001, the role of audits, and the preparation of organizations for the forthcoming European AI Regulation. Participants gained practical insight into managing AI risks, strengthening the trust of regulators and clients, and the importance of systematic AI literacy among employees.

The lecture also covered assessments of the stage of self-compliance with the AI Regulation, enabling organizations to identify regulatory challenges in a timely manner and define concrete steps toward full compliance.
