Hrvoje Patajac, M.Sc.

Lecturer

Graduated in 1995 from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing. Completed the Diploma Study in Management program at the same faculty. Earned a Master’s degree in Corporate Finance in 2002 from the Faculty of Economics in Zagreb.

He furthered his education in business strategy and corporate finance at INSEAD in Paris. He has undergone various training programs in Croatia, both external and internal, in areas such as business strategy, controlling, ESG, and using artificial intelligence in business. Additionally, he regularly attends webinars organized by the global consulting firm McKinsey, focusing on growth strategies and value creation.

His first work experience was in the IT sector with the company MIPS, where he worked on numerous development projects. Later, he worked in Nexe Group in IT and controlling, followed by a role at Farmacija Zagreb as the controlling manager. He is currently the Director of Controlling at Adris Group. He joined the Adris team in 2003. His main task is the implementation of controlling at the Group level, providing support for tactical and strategic decision-making. He has participated in numerous development and transformation projects within the Group.

He is a member of the Supervisory Board of several companies: Adris Grupa d.d., Cromaris d.d., Maistra d.d., HUP-Zagreb d.d., and Croatia Osiguranje d.d..

He is a member of the Board of the Croatian Controllers Association at the Faculty of Economics in Rijeka.

He has published about twenty scientific and professional papers in the fields of controlling and business strategy. He has participated as a speaker at professional conferences and workshops on controlling and business strategy, both domestically and internationally.

He is a guest lecturer in the postgraduate specialist study of “Controlling” at the Faculty of Economics in Rijeka. Occasionally, he teaches at ZŠEM, the Faculty of Economics in Zagreb, the Faculty of Management in Tourism and Hospitality in Opatija, and at the Luxembourg School of Business.

Since 2019, he has worked as an external associate and lecturer at Effectus University of Applied Sciences, teaching courses such as Controlling, Crisis Management, Strategic Management, and Investment Project Creation – Practicum.
