What Students Need to Know at the End of the Semester to Earn Credits, Pass Exams, and Enroll in the Next Year of Study
Academic Calendar, Attendance, Digital Signature, Learning Outcomes, Credit Retention, and Enrollment in a Higher Year of Study
In the final phase of the semester, on January 22, the Secretary General of EFFECTUS University of Applied Sciences, Ivana Radman Livaja, M.Sc. (Econ.), delivered a presentation entitled “Studying in Practice.” The purpose of the lecture was to empower students to independently and responsibly manage their academic obligations at the end of the semester and to ensure a comprehensive understanding of study processes at a time when information directly affects semester completion, examinations, and enrollment in the next year of study. Special emphasis was placed on topics with direct implications for earning credits, examinations, attendance, digital signatures, learning outcomes, credit retention, and progression to a higher year of study.
During the presentation, it was emphasized that studying at EFFECTUS University of Applied Sciences is regulated by official institutional acts, and that students’ rights and obligations are defined by the university’s bylaws and decisions. The key documents governing student affairs include the Study Regulations, the Regulations on Student Disciplinary Responsibility, and the Code of Ethics. It was stressed that ignorance or lack of familiarity with these regulations does not exempt students from responsibility, and that each student is obliged to familiarize themselves with the applicable rules and act in accordance with them.
Students were introduced to the Academic Calendar as an official and binding document defining the delivery of classes, examination periods, midterm examination dates, public holidays, and academic breaks. As noted by the Secretary General, the Academic Calendar is available to students via the university’s website, the Infoduka digital student services system, and the official notice board.
The “Studying in Practice” lecture provided students with clear, concrete, and timely information, with the aim of encouraging a responsible approach to studying and ensuring the successful completion of the academic year in accordance with the rules and regulations of EFFECTUS University of Applied Sciences.
