Book Presentation by Vjeran Bušelić and a Panel Discussion on the Future of Knowledge and Education
How Do We Learn and Work with Generative Artificial Intelligence?
How do we learn, work, and understand knowledge in the era of generative artificial intelligence? These are the central questions addressed by Assistant Professor Vjeran Bušelić, PhD, a mathematician and computer scientist, and the author of the book In Search for Knowledge: Reskilling for Generative AI from the First Principle.
The book presentation, followed by a discussion with the author and a panel debate, will take place on Thursday, January 22, at 6:00 p.m., in the Multimedia Hall of the City Library, Starčević Square 4. The event will bring together researchers, educators, students, and all those interested in contemporary challenges of education in a digital and technologically accelerated environment.
The book In Search for Knowledge is written in English and is available exclusively via the Amazon platform. It offers readers a thoughtful combination of practical strategies, conceptual frameworks, and a philosophical approach to learning in the age of artificial intelligence. Starting from the idea that generative artificial intelligence can function as a kind of “ultimate personal mentor,” the author emphasizes the need to develop new skills and upgrade ways of thinking in order to use its potential meaningfully, critically, and responsibly. The book is not only about technology, but also about people and their relationship to knowledge.
As part of the event, a panel discussion entitled “Knowledge, Education, and the Human Being in the Age of Generative Artificial Intelligence” will be held, bringing together prominent experts from the fields of education, social sciences, and philosophy, and offering diverse perspectives on learning, responsibility, and values in contemporary society:
-
Blaženka Divjak, PhD, Full Professor at the Faculty of Organization and Informatics, University of Zagreb, and former Minister of Science and Education
-
Boris Jokić, PhD, Director of the Institute for Social Research in Zagreb and one of Croatia’s leading experts in education policy
-
Marko Vučetić, PhD, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zadar, philosopher and former Member of Parliament
The panel will open discussions on the role of education, institutional responsibility, ethical challenges, and the need for new approaches to learning, encouraging dialogue on how knowledge is transforming in interaction with generative artificial intelligence.
Students and faculty of EFFECTUS University of Applied Sciences are invited to join this event, actively participate in the discussion, and take the opportunity to exchange ideas about the future of knowledge, education, and professional development in the age of generative artificial intelligence.
